Connolly leather has been the benchmark for leather producers for 125 years, unfortunately with the demise of the Connolly company in June 2002 the high standard leather and the distinctive Connolly leather smell (which was a result of using specific ingredients in their processes and not the actual smell of leather) is no longer available to the automotive industry. In order to keep your leather looking and feeling fresh and also to help prevent damage you will need to use good quality, non silicone, none solvent leather care products.

In the production of leather, oils are used to help to preserve the material but over time leather will become depleted of these oils that normally help to keep it supple and fresh. This leaves the leather looking and feeling hard, worn and cracked, so a protective surface is applied to help prevent this. However this surface can also become damaged or cracked exposing the leather underneath which is then more susceptible to drying and ultimately irrepairable damage.
These oils can be replenished using a good quality leather care soap to first revitalise and clean the leather surface followed by a good quality leather care crème to replenish the oils back into the surface of the now clean leather.
The DT Concours Leather Care products are ideal for freshening and revitalising your leather upholstery, they contain no silicones or solvents which may only have a bad effect over time..

Leather Soap & Conditioner
For cleaning and freshening of leather upholstery and trim. When used correctly on cracked and dirty leather this will help to clean the dirt that lies in the cracks and so disguise them, especially good on lighter colours where dirt in cracked leather is easily visible.
Leaves a natural sheen on the cleaned leather surfaces. A neutral pH and balanced cleaner containing protective oils that help feed the leather, aid stain resistance and keep the leather supple, unlike some other leather soaps and cleaning agents which contain solvents and can dry out the leather.
Use in conjunction with DT Concours Leather Care Crème for optimum protection and maintenance.

We recommend that you clean the leather each time before applying the Leather Creme, in this way you will help to prolong the life of the leather. In effect what you are doing is cleaning and protecting the coating that is put onto the leather when it is manufactured, it is very important to maintain the coating in order to protect the leather underneath. If the coating does become cracked then we recommend that the leather is thoroughly cleaned with leather soap and the coating should be re-applied as soon as is practicably possible.
